Blackbaud Labs is a great place to get a peek at our cutting-edge technology, but there is a lot more to building a superior product than just the tech. If you'd like to participate in usability studies and interact directly with our design team, the playground is where to get started.
From the early days of architecting the Infinity platform we have focused on embracing Web 2.0 technologies and
standards. EVERY Infinity API is a web service and RSS support is plumbed into the lowest levels of
the platform. With all this Web 2.0 centricity comes the big payoff: mashups.
In this short 20 minute screen cast, I'll walk through building multiple mashups, starting in Blackbaud Enterprise CRM and journeying into Microsoft PopFly and Yahoo! Pipes. I guess the Internet really is just a series of tubes! Using these powerful, and highly visual, mashup tools, we'll build some interesting little apps.
We'll even do something in Facebook, since no Web 2.0 demo in 2007 is complete without featuring Facebook. Bonus points if you can count how many times I used the word "adorn"...(one of my favorites!)
In this short 20-minute screencast we'll take a tour of the Infinity API, covering the basics of using our new service-oriented Web Services API model. I'll even write some code! Apologies for the quality of the video (and my code!); just trying to keep the download reasonable. Hopefully the dulcet tone of my voice will offset the grainy video.
